For Immediate Release:  Mansfield falls to Cheyney 81-59

Cheyney-   Cheyney started the game on a 19-3 run and Mansfield was never able to get within more than seven falling at Cheyney 81-59 in a PSAC East game.

Cheyney scored the first eight points of the game before John Hampton hit a free throw with 17 minutes to go. 

The Mountaineers went on a 9-0 run to get back within seven at 19-12.  The run included a three-pointer by Hampton, a Brandon Lawley jumper and layups from Lavail Owens and Rodney Norris.

Cheyney pushed the lead back to 13 just a minute later with an Edwin Braswell three-pointer.

Cheyney held an eleven point halftime lead but Mansfield got to within eight three minutes into the second half on a three-pointer by Kevin Hill.  A three-pointer by Dominique Curry pushed the lead back to 11 for the Wolves.

The Mountaineers once again pulled to within eight on a three-pointer by Ryan Callahan, but Cheyney went on a 12-0 run to build a 20 point lead.

Mansfield never got within single digits again falling 81-59.

Raswell led Cheyney with 21 points shooting 5 of 6 from beyond the arc.  Robbie Simpson added 18 for Cheyney

Hill had 16 points for the Mountaineers while Lawley chipped in 11 points and eight rebounds.

Mansfield travels to West Chester on Saturday Feb.23
