FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: A Mansfield man down McMaster 84-66 in basketball exhibition game – Kevin Hill leads Mansfield with 14 points

MANSFIELD – Senior Kevin Hill scored 14 points and Chris Greene and newcomer Ryan Callahan added 11 points each to lead Mansfield to a 84-66 win over McMaster University (ONT) in an international exhibition game Friday evening in Decker Gymnasium.

“It was what exhibition games are supposed to be,” said head coach Rich Miller. “We got a chance to see everyone under game conditions and that’s a good thing for us. I think Lavail Owens and Yuseff Carr did alright for their first time out and Ryan Callahan did nice job in the first half. We still have lots to work on but it was a good opportunity for us.”

Mansfield mixed up the lineup throughout the game with junior point guard Chris Greene the only player with more than 25 minutes.

Greene scored all of his 11 points in the first half while also dishing out a game high eight assists. Kevin Hill, scored 11 of his team best 14 points in the second half while Callahan, a transfer from NCAA Division I Wagner, had nine of his 11 points in the first half.

Tyrell Vernon scored a game high 18 points to lead McMaster (5-3).
