FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Kevin Hill Scores a Career Best 23 Points but Mountie Men Fall to Messiah 74-66

Grantham, PA – Kevin Hill scored a career best 23 points but it wouldn’t be enough as Mansfield dropped a 74-66 decision at Messiah College Tuesday evening.

“We didn’t shoot well or make good decision in the first half,” said head coach Rich Miller. “We got to the boards, moved and created opportunities in the second half but just too much to make up.”

Mansfield (0-2) led early taking a 15-10 lead but went cold from the field from that point trailing 40-20 at halftime. The Mountaineers shot just 26% from the floor in the first half and hit just 3-of-13 three-point attempts in the first 20 minutes.

Mansfield rallied in the second half cutting the lead to four points with six minutes to play but could pull no closer.

Hill connected 8-of-13 attempts including 5-9 on points eclipsing his career high in each of the first two games this season.

Terrance Williams scored 12 points while point guard Chris Greene added eight points with 10 assists and just two turnovers.

Matt Henninger scored 23 points, including 22 in the first half, to lead Messiah (2-1).
