Mounties Drop First Game at Wheeling Jesuit Tournament

WHEELING, WV – Mansfield managed to put
up 81 points including 19 from John Hampton but would fall short
104-81 on Friday night against Wheeling Jesuit in the first game of the Wheeling
Jesuit Main Street Classic.
"We got beat up on the boards," said
coach Miller after the game. "It didn't help that they shot almost 60% from the
field."
Hampton led Mansfield with 19 points
while Kevin Hill added 17 points.
Ricky Yahn led Wheeling with a game-high
25 points.
The Mountaineers shot 44% from the field
while Wheeling was 59% from the field.
The loss drops the Mountaineers to 2-7
on the season, their slowest start since 2001 when the team opened with a 3-7
record before finishing the season 10-16 overall. Wheeling Jesuit improves to
5-2 on the season.
Mansfield is back in action tomorrow
afternoon when they take on West Liberty State at 2:00 at the Wheeling Jesuit
