FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mountie Men Picked Sixth -- Women Fifth in Preseason PSAC East Poll

Lock Haven, PA -- The PSAC office has released the 2006-07 preseason coaches poll for the men's and women's basketball seasons.

The Mountaineer men, who finished second in the PSAC East last season after being picked to finish fourth in the preseason poll, are picked sixth in the seven team PSAC East for this season.

The Mountie men return only one starter from the 2005-06 squad and graduated their top four scorers (Brandon DeShields, David Hoopes, Carlos Collazo, Andrae Martin) and big man, Justin Kress.

The Mountaineer men return Terrance Williams from the starting squad last season as well as John Hampton and Chris Greene, who each saw starts throughout the year, and outside shooter Kevin Hill. A talented group of redshirt freshmen will join the squad after sitting out last season including Brandon Smtih, Wayne Sanders and Chris Pender.

The Mountaineer men welcome newcomers Cory Boone, Dhimitri Luarasi, Brandon Lawley, Rodney Norris, and Jovoun Webb. Lavail Owens will redshirt the season.

The Mountie men open the season on November 18th at LeMoyne.
