FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MOUNTIE MEN FALL TO EDINBORO 82-70 – LATE EDINBORO RUN SINKS MANSFIELD

MANSFIELD – Edinboro went on a 15-2 run late in the second half to pull out a 82-70 win over Mansfield in a PSAC cross-over contest at Decker Gymnasium Saturday afternoon.

The Mountaineers led much of the first half until Edinboro went on a late rally to take a 34-30 lead at intermission.

Mansfield trailed by as many as 10 points early in the second half before taking a 47-45 lead with just over 12 minutes on a jumper by Terrance Williams. But Edinboro would come right back to build an insurmountable 65-52 lead with just over six minutes to play.

Terrance Williams scored a career high 13 points to lead three Mountaineers in double figures with Jason Benson scoring 11 points and David Hoopes 10.

Edinboro held the Mountaineers to the lowest amount of points in a game this season while holding a commanding 51-35 rebounding advantage.

Torry Mitchell led Edinboro (5-1) with a game high 22 points while Jakim Donaldson had a double-double with 17 points and 17 rebounds.

The Mountaineers (2-3) will host Slippery Rock at 3 p.m. on Sunday at Decker Gymnasium.
