FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: JASON BENSON NAMED PSAC EAST PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MANSFIELD – Jason Benson (Pittsburgh/Schenley) has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Player of the Week for his record break effort over the Mountaineers last four games.

Benson averaged 33.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game during the four game span, connecting on a remarkable 60.5% (46-76) of his shots from the field. He also dished out 11 assists and recorded six steals.

Benson, who averaged just 10.0 points per game during the first five games of the season, is averaging 31.5 points per game over the last six games

For the season, Benson is averaging 21.7 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.

The Mountaineers are currently 5-6 on the season and travel to IUP and Lock Haven this Saturday and Sunday.
