FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: HOOPES SCORED 24 POINTS TO LEAD FOUR MOUNTAINEERS IN DOUBLE FIGURES IN A NON-CONFERENCE WIN OVER ITHACA COLLEGE

ITHACA- David Hoopes (Philadelphia/Archbishop Carroll) scored 24 points to lead four Mountaineers in double figures in an 88-69 win over Ithaca College in a non-conference game at Ben Light Gymnasium Thursday evening. 

The Mountaineers jumped out to an early 15-6 lead on a lay-up by Jason Benson (Pittsburgh) and they never looked back in winning their second straight road game. Benson just missed a double-double scoring 16 points and grabbing 9 rebounds. 

 In a strong team effort, Mansfield never trailed in the game connecting on 50.8% of their shots from the floor. 

Justin Kress (Jarrettsville, Md./Harford CC)  came off the bench to earn his second double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds.  Brian Bryant (Philadelphia/Suffield Academy) came through big for the Mountaineers scoring 11 points and dishing out seven assists.

Jim Bellis scored 21 points to lead Ithaca College.

The Mountaineers are scheduled to host the Golden Eagles of Clarion this Saturday at 3:00 at Decker Gymnasium.
