FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: CARLOS COLLAZO NAMED PSAC EAST CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MANSFIELD – Carlos Collazo (Vega Baja, PR) has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Co-Player of the Week for his outstanding performance during the week ending 2/6/05.

He shared the honor with Millersville’s Greg Testa.

The 6-8 forward led the Mountaineers to two wins during the week to claim first place honors at the end first half of the PSAC East season. Collazo averaged 21.0 points and 5.0 per game during the week while shooting 59.1% (13-22) from the floor and blocking five shots.

For the season, Collazo is averaging 12.2 points and 6.4 rebounds per game with 20 blocked shots. He is shooting a team high 57.1% from the floor.

Collazo ranks 8^th in the PSAC in field goal percentage 10^th in blocked shots (18) and 14^th in rebounding.

He becomes the third Mountaineer to earn PSAC East Player of the Week this season along with Brandon DeShields and Jason Benson.

The Mountaineers are currently 12-9 overall and in first place in the PSAC East with a 5-1 conference mark. They host Millersville this Wednesday evening.
