FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: ANDY WADDLE JOINS MANSFIELD UNIVERSITY FOOTBALL STAFF

MANSFIELD – Former Wittenberg University standout, Andy Waddle has been named secondary coach for the 2003 Mansfield University football team. The announcement was made today by head coach Chris Woods.

“Andy is a great addition to our staff,” head coach Chris Woods said. He was a very successfull player in a very successful program and were are confident that success will follow him to the coaching ranks.”

A three-year standout in the secondary at Wittenberg, Waddle transferred into the Tigers program after starting his career at Findley (OH) University.

At Wittenberg, Waddle helped the Tigers to two straight North Coast Athletic Conference and three NCAA Division III playoff appearances.

Twice named the NCAC Player of the Week, Waddle earned All-NCAC honors during his senior season. He also set a NCAA All Division’s record with three blocked punts in a game against Urbana College. He also earned all-conference honors as a sprinter.

A native of Springfield, OH, Waddle graduated from Wittenberg this May with a degree sociology and will reside in Mansfield.

Mansfield opens the 2003 season when they host Bowie State on Sept. 6.
