FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MANSFIELD UNIVERSITY SENIOR DAN HOLLAND NAMED TO DON HANSEN’S FOOTBALL GAZETTE 2003 NCAA DIVISION II PRESEASON ALL-AMERICAN TEAM

MANSFIELD – Senior Dan Holland (Scranton/Bishop O’Hara) added another accomplishment to his already long list by being named to the 2003 Football Gazette NCAA Division II All-America Team.

Don Hansen’s Football Gazette, a recognized authority on small college football, is in its 16th year of naming Division II All-America and preseason All-America teams.  100 total players – 50 offense, 50 defense – representing the four geographic regions of NCAA Division II are annually named to the Football Gazette Preseason All-America Team.  66 schools are represented on this season’s squad.  

  Holland is one of three players from the PSAC East to receive the honor for the up coming 2003 season. 

  The reigning 2002 Division II Linebacker of the Year, Holland also received Consensus All-American honors in 2003 as well as being named the PSAC East Defensive Player of the Year.  Holland led Division II in total tackles with 141 and solo-tackles with 85 last season. 

  Holland and the Mountaineers open up the 2003 season at home on September 6, against Bowie State.
