VICTORY—SNAP 10-GAME LOSING STREAK
Littler Rock, AK- Former Mansfield standout quarterback Travis Motley had a
career game as he helped lead the Arkansas Twisters of the Arena Football League
2 (AFL2) to a 67-61 overtime victory over Bossier-Shreveport on July 2.
In just his third game of the season, Motley and the Twisters found themselves
trailing by three touchdowns at halftime. However,
Lady Luck found the Twisters as their defense came up big plays to set-up Motley
and the Twisters offense.
Late in the fourth quarter, Motley launched a 30-yard pass towards Kevin
Williams who came up with the touchdown reception to give the Twisters their
first lead of the game, 54-53.
However,
the Battle Wings regained the lead 61-54, with: 26 seconds to play.

second to play. With nothing to
lose, Motley threw up a prayer, throwing across his body.
The pass hit receiver Bruce Bailey in the hands, but couldn’t come down
with the pass as he juggled the ball. Before
the ball touched the turf, Williams came out of nowhere and grabbed the ball
scoring the touchdown to send the game into overtime.
After holding Bossier-Shreveport to three and out in their first possession,
Motley went to work completing a series of short passes to keep the first down
chains moving. With

left in overtime, Motley fired
up a pass towards the end zone finding Williams who made a one handed catch for
his fifth touchdown reception of the game ending the Twisters 10-game losing
streak with a 67-61 victory.
