FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mounties Andre Turner Named PSAC East Defensive Player of the Week

MANSFIELD – Andre Turner (Pittsburgh/Peabody) has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Defensive Player of the Week for his outstanding performance against Lock Haven on Saturday.

Turner recorded a game-high ten tackles including five solo and 2.5 for a loss. He also had a sack, forced a fumble, and returned an interception for an 85-yard touchdown.

Turner ranks among the conference leaders in tackles this season with 24 tackles over the first three games of the season including a team best 4.5 for a loss.

The senior linebacker is a three-time All-PSAC East selection who has recorded 292 tackles during his career.

The Mountaineers (0-3) host East Stroudsburg this Saturday starting at 1 p.m. at Karl Van Norman Field.
