FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MOUNTIES PICKED SIXTH IN PSAC EAST FOOTBALL COACHES PRESEASON POLL

BLOOMSBURG – Mansfield University was picked to finish sixth in the 2005 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Division Preseason Coaches Poll released at the PSAC East Football Media Day at Bloomsburg on Tuesday.

East Stroudsburg was picked to finishes first by the PSAC East head coaches after finishing 10-2 last season. West Chester (11-4, 6-0) is projected to finish second after winning the PSAC East last year. Bloomsburg (7-3, 4-2) is third with Millersville (5-5, 3-3) fourth.

Kutztown (4-6, 2-4) is fifth with Mansfield sixth (1-9, 1-5) and Cheyney seventh (1-10, 0-6).

East Stroudsburg, West Chester and Bloomsburg have all been ranked in a number of national NCAA Division II preseason polls.

Mansfield will welcome a 84 player preseason roster to camp on August 10. The Mountaineers have an 11 game schedule this season starting at West Virginia Wesleyan on Sept. 3.
