FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: SEVEN MOUNTIES EARN ALL-PSAC FOOTBALL HONORS -- BRIAN DeCECCO AND JAMAR FOULKS NAMED TO ALL-PSAC EAST FIRST TEAM HONORS CHRIS FARRIS, JOE FRICK, POOHBEAR McNEAL, KEITH SLEZAK, AND ANDRE' TURNER NAMED TO SECOND TEAM

LOCK HAVEN -- Brian DeCecco (McKeesport/South Alleghany) and Jamar Foulks (Pittsburgh/Westinghouse) repeated as First Team selections to highlight seven Mountaineer named to the 2004 All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Team. The team, selected by the PSAC East head coaches, was released by the conference today.

Earning Second Team honors were Chris Farris (Dunmore/Dunmore), Joe Frick (Montrose/Montrose), Poohbear McNeal (Orlando, FL/Lake Highland Prep), Keith Slezak (Windber/Windber) and Andre' Turner (Pittsburgh/Peabody).

It marks the third straight season DeCecco has earned All-PSAC East honors at noseguard. The senior was a first time selection in 2003 and second team pick in 2002. This season DeCecco anchored the defensive line, racking up 33 tackles including 15 solo. DeCecco has started every game of his four year career at Mansfield and hold the school record for career tackles by a noseguard with 146 including solo's (76).
Just a sophomore, the 326-pound Foulks has earned First Team All-PSAC East honors in each of his first two seasons at Mansfield.
Farris is a repeat All-PSAC East Second Team selection at guard. The senior has been a starter in all four seasons at Mansfield and is the 2004 Frank Butsko Award winner.
Frick led the team in tackles this season from his safety spot. His 89 tackles ranked third best in the PSAC this season while his 58 solo tackles was second best in the conference. He also returned 13 kickoffs for 267 yards and led the team in sacks with four. A senior, Frick has recorded 234 career tackles including 142 solo.
McNeal was named to second team honors after leading the conference in rushing in 2003. Despite missing two games this season, McNeal averaged 102.9 yards per game rushing for 823 yards and two touchdowns. Just a sophomore, McNeal has already rushed for 2,507 yards in his Mansfield career. He ranked seventh in rushing in the PSAC this season.
Slezak finished third on the team and ranked among the conference leaders for tackles for a defensive linemen. The junior defensive end was in on 48 stops this season including 22 solo with 7.5 tackles for a loss and one sack.
Turner repeats as a second team selection at linebacker. The sophomore was second on the team and fourth in the PSAC in tackles with 88 including 53 solo. He also had 7.5 tackles for a loss and five pass breakups.
