FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MOUNTIES FALL TO KUTZTOWN IN FIELD HOCKEY

MANSFIELD – Kutztown jumped out to a 2-1 lead at halftime and held of for a 3-1 victory over Mansfield University in a PSAC contest Thursday afternoon at Spaulding Field.

Kutztown took a 2-0 lead midway through the first half on goals by Lauren McCable and Colleen Healey before the Mountaineers cut the score to 2-1 when Kristen Campbell ( Bloomsburg/Central Columbia ) scored an unassisted goal with just over two minutes to play in the half.

Mansfield tried to rally in the second half pounding out nine shots to Kutztown’s five but could not find the goal.

Heather Long (Pottsgrove/Pottstown) had nine saves in goal for Mansfield .

Kutztown improves to 5-5 while the Mountaineers fall to 2-9.
