FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MOUNTIES FALL TO #2 RANKED BLOOMSBURG IN FIELD HOCKEY – HEATHER LONG TIES NATIONAL NCAA DIVISON II RECORD FOR SAVES IN SEASON

BLOOMSBURG – Second ranked Bloomsburg University out shot Mansfield 37-5 on their way to a 6-0 victory over the Mountaineers Wednesday afternoon.

Bloomsburg got goals from six different players in upping their record to 17-2 overall and 13-2 in the PSAC.

Mansfield senior Heather Long recorded 25 saves in goal to increase her NCAA Division II leading saves total to a school record 328. Long also ties the NCAA Division II national record for saves in a season set by Ruth Benoit of UMass-Lowell in 1992.

The Mountaineers fall to 3-15 overall and 3-13 in the PSAC.
