FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MANSFIELD OPENS 2003 FIELD HOCKEY SEASON WITH 4-0 SETBACK TO BYRANT COLLEGE

MANSFIELD – The Mansfield University field hockey team opened the 2003 season with a 4-0 setback to Bryant College Sunday afternoon at Spaulding Field.

The Mountaineers (0-1) struggled both offensively and defensively in the opener managing just one shot on goal to Bryant’s 32 . Heather Long (Pottstown/Pottsgrove) played well in goal for Mansfield stopping 20 shots.

  Elizabeth Gunn scored two of Bryant’s (1-1) goals.

  Mansfield travels to Kutztown next Saturday.
