FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: FIVE MANSFIELD UNIVERSITY FIELD HOCKEY PLAYERS NAMED TO NFHCA’S 2002 NATIONAL ACADEMIC SQUAD

 MANSFIELD- Five members of the Mansfield University field hockey team have been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) 2002 NCAA Division II National Academic Squad.

 Junior Heather Long (Pottsville, PA/Pottstown), senior Gretchen Reschke, (Owego, NY/Owego Free), freshman Amy Laubach (Stewartstown/Kennard-Dale), freshman Holly Frederickson (Woodbine, MD/South Carroll) and freshman Amanda Bliss (Marathon, NY/Marathon Central) were all honored for their academic achievements.

 To earn NFHCA honors each athlete had to achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 through the first semester of the 2002-2003 academic year.

 The Mountaineers were also successful on the pitch posting a 10-7 overall record.
