Release Date-9-20-03- Mansfield drops PSAC match up against IUP

 Indiana, Pa. – The Indiana University of Pennsylvania field hockey team got its second Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference win over Mansfield 4-1 Saturday.  The Indians improve to 3-6 overall and 2-4 in PSAC play.  Mansfield drops to 1-6 and 1-5 in the PSAC.

In the first half the Indians drew first blood with 14:32 left on the clock when Chrissy Hill found the back of the goal.  Amy Pincock also scored for the Indians with 2:59 left to play in the first half. 

 The Indians started the second half quick with 32:00 left on the clock when Amanda O’Brian made the score 3-0 on a pass from Becca Geiger.  Mansfield added a goal with 23 minutes on the clock by Kristin Campbell.  IUP added one more goal and Pincock got her second of the game with 11:29 left in the game on a corner from Wendy Strohl and Becky Frank.

Jamie Parell played the whole game in goal for the Indians and recorded four saves on five shots.  In goal for Mountaineers was Heather Long who faced 31 shots and recorded 23 saves.

Mansfield will travel to Mercyhurst University tomorrow for a 2 pm game.
