FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MOUNTIE FIELD HOCKED DOWNS MILLERSVILLE 2-1 IN OT – KRISTEN CAMPBELL SCORES GAME WINNER

MILLERSVILLE – Junior Kristen Campbell ( Bloomsburg/Central Columbia ) scored on a breakaway with 8:02 to play in overtime to give Mansfield University a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Millersville University in PSAC field hockey Saturday afternoon at Brooks Field.

Millersville (0-8, 0-7) took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Sami Griffith with 21:29 in regulation. Less than five minutes later, the Mountaineers junior forward Christine Thiers (Royersford/St. Pius X) scored an unassisted goal to tie the score.

Campbell scored midway through the overtime period when she tucked the ball in the corner past the goalie.

Senior goalie Heather Long (Pottsgrove/Pottstown) recorded two saves on four Millersville shots.

  Mansfield improves to 2-8 overall and 2-6 in the PSAC.
