RELEASE DATE: 9/18/07 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mansfield remains at #8 in this week’s STX/NFHCA National Division II Field Hockey Poll MANSFIELD – Despite a 1-1 week, the Mansfield University field hockey team retained its #8 ranking in this week’s STX/NFHCA National Division II Field Hockey Poll released today. Mansfield’s lost a 4-1 decision at #7 ranked Shippensburg last week and beat #10 ranked East Stroudsburg 3-1. Mansfield’s only other loss this season came in heart-breaking 1-0 setback to IUP two weeks ago. IUP beat Bloomsburg during this past week to move into the #1 spot in this week’s poll. The Mountaineers defeated East Stroudsburg, this week’s #10 team, by a 3-1 score. Mansfield is 5-2 on the season and host #3 ranked and defending NCAA Division II National Champion Bloomsburg Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Spaulding Field before traveling to undefeated and #2 ranked Kutztown on Saturday.
