RELEASE DATE: 10/31/07 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mansfield finishes 10th in nation in final STX/NFHCA Division II National Coaches Poll MANSFIELD – The Mansfield University field hockey team was ranked 10th in the nation in the final STX/NFHCA Division II National Coaches Poll. Mansfield concluded the season with an 11-7 overall record with all seven losses coming to nationally ranked programs. The 11 wins tied the school record for victories in a season. Mansfield tied for fourth in the PSAC but lost out on a playoff berth in a tiebreaker with Shippensburg. It marked the first time in school history the Mountaineers had finished the season nationally ranked for two consecutive years. Mansfield finished 9th in 2006. It is also the first time Mansfield has appeared in the national ranks each week during the season. The Mountaineers were ranked as high as 7th in the nation.
