FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mansfield finishes 10^th in nation in final STX/NFHCA Division II National Coaches Poll

MANSFIELD – The Mansfield University field hockey team was ranked 10^th in the nation in the final STX/NFHCA Division II National Coaches Poll.

Mansfield concluded the season with an 11-7 overall record with all seven losses coming to nationally ranked programs. The 11 wins tied the school record for victories in a season.

Mansfield tied for fourth in the PSAC but lost out on a playoff berth in a tiebreaker with Shippensburg.

 It marked the first time in school history the Mountaineers had finished the season nationally ranked for two consecutive years. Mansfield finished 9^th in 2006.

It is also the first time Mansfield has appeared in the national ranks each week during the season. The Mountaineers were ranked as high as 7^th in the nation.
