Mansfield, which closed out its PSAC regular season with a 7-7 mark, needed to win to keep alive it’s hope for a first ever PSAC playoff berth. Those hopes also got a big boost when Bloomsburg beat East Stroudsburg 2-1 in overtime. Mansfield will now await the tonight’s Kutztown – Shippensburg game to see if they earn the fourth PSAC playoff berth. The Mountaineers got on the scoreboard early and often with freshman Breanne Tobin scoring the game’s first goal before Jarrett scored the first of her three game off an assist from Tobin.
Jarrett would score again minutes later, this time on a assist from Shana Markwis and got her third goal before the end of the first half on another assist from Tobin. Markwis scored the only second half goal on a penalty stroke. Brianne DeLuca was credited with seven saves to record her fifth shutout of the season as Mansfield improves to 9-9 overall and will play Bellermine Sunday morning at Seton Hill College.
