FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mountaineer Field Hockey Earns Team Academic Honor -- 13 Athletes Earn Individual Honors

MANSFIELD – The Mansfield University field hockey team was named an All-Academic team by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association while 13 Mountaineer players earned individual All-Academic honors.

In order to receive the team honor, a team must carry a cumulative GPA of above a 3.0. The Mountaineers were one of only 10 division II teams in the country to earn the honor. Mansfield also received the honor last season.

In order to earn All-Academic honors as an individual, players must carry above a 3.30 cumulative GPA. 13 Mountaineer women were named to the division II NFHCA All-Academic team. They are:

Laura Carden - Sophomore

Christina Carter - Sophomore

Nicole Dann - Senior

Courtney Grunza - Freshman

Ryanne Higgins - Junior

Keely Jarrett - Junior

Shana Markwis - Junior

Molly Nasser - Freshman

Shantee Proctor - Sophomore

Carlyn Spangler - Freshman

Breanne Tobin - Freshman

Ashley Weidner - Sophomore
