FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: WEATHER ENDS MANSFIELD FIELD HOCKEY SEASON – MOUNTAINEER FINAL TWO GAMES OF THE SEASON CANCELLED BECAUSE OF WEATHER AND PSAC PLAYOFF SCHEDULE

MANSFIELD – The Mansfield University field hockey team saw its season end Monday, not with a win, loss over even tie. Their 2005 season ended with a cancellation of a game at East Stroudsburg.

The East Stroudsburg game had already been postponed twice because of heavy rains in Eastern Pennsylvania.

Also complicating things is the start of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) playoffs set for Tuesday.

The Mountaineers ended the season with a 6-11 overall mark, and were a surprising 5-7 in the tough PSAC, one half game behind fifth place East Stroudsburg.

Mansfield’s game at Bloomsburg, scheduled for last Saturday, was also postponed because of weather and field conditions.
