FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MERCYHURST BLANKS MOUNTIES 4-0 IN FIELD HOCKEY

ERIE – Playing their fourth game in five days, the Mansfield University offense had little in the tank as they fell 4-0 to Mercyhurst in field hockey action Wednesday afternoon.

Mercyhurst (1-2) got two first half goals from Lauren MacEllven in cruising to their first victory of the year.

The Mountaineer could generate little offense with Mercyhurst holding a 18-3 shot advantage and 10-0 edge in corners.

Mansfield’s Katie Heil was credited with nine saves in goal.

The Mountaineer (1-3) are off until Sept. 8, when they host Kutztown.
