RELEASE DATE: 10/23/04 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MOUNTIES FINISH 2004 SEASON WITH 2-1 OVERTIME WIN AT MILLERSVILLE -- SENIOR ASHLEY CELASCHI SCORE GAME WINNER IN FINAL COLLEGIATE GAME MILLERSVILLE- Senior Ashley Celaschi (Myerstown, ELCO) made her finial collegiate game memorable by scoring the winning goal in overtime to lead Mansfield to a 2-1 over Millersville in the final game of the 2004 season. Celaschi took a pass from fellow senior Kristen Campbell (Bloomsburg/Central Columbia) one minute and 24 seconds into overtime to pull off the come-from-behind victory. Millersville scored in the first half on a goal by Danielle Floyd and held that lead until freshman Ryanne Higgins (Newtown/Council Rocks) found the left hand side of the net off a corner with less than seven minutes to play in regulation. Celaschi's winning goal came from five-yards out when she also found the left side of the net. Sophomore Katie Heil (Strasburg/Lampeter-Strasburg) turned in another strong performance in goal, turning away ten shots. Millersville held a 13-9 advantage on shots, but Mansfield led 13-11 in corners. The Mountaineers end the season strong, winning five of their last 10 games on their way to a 6-13 overall and 4-10 conference record.
