FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: FIELD HOCKEY DROPS 5-1 DECISION TO #4 RANKED IUP

MANSFIELD – Liz Martini scored twice to lead #4 ranked IUP to a 5-1 win over Mansfield in PSAC field hockey Saturday afternoon at Spaulding Field.

IUP jumped off to a 3-0 lead in the first half, out shooting Mansfield 18-4 in the first 35 minutes.

Kristen Campbell pulled the Mountaineers to 3-1 when she scored off a penalty stoke at the 50 minute mark.

But IUP would score twice more over the next nine minutes to put the game out of reach.

Katie Heil had 12 saves in goal for Mansfield.

IUP improves to 13-3 overall and 9-3 in the PSAC. Mansfield falls to 4-12 overall and 3-9 in the conference.

The Mountaineers will host Mercyhurst Sunday afternoon.
