EAST STROUDSBURG – Ashley Kocis scored the game’s only goal three minutes into the contest to lead nationally ranked East Stroudsburg to a 1-0 victory over Mansfield in PSAC field hockey Thursday afternoon.

Katie Heil had an exceptional game in goal for the Mountaineers with 15 saves with getting off 35 shots to Mansfield’s seven. The Mountaineers showed great improvement over the team’s first meeting of the season when East Stroudsburg posted a 7-1 victory. 

The Mountaineers fall to 4-11 overall and 3-8 in the PSAC. East Stroudsburg, the #7 ranked team in the nation, improves to 10-7 and 6-7 in the PSAC. Mansfield will host IUP Saturday for Senior Day.
