FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: EAST STROUDSBURG DOWNS MOUNTIES IN FIELD HOCKEY

MANSFIELD – Alissa Gallagher scored the final goal of the game, but East Stroudsburg scored the first seven in 7-1 win over Mansfield in a PSAC field hockey game Thursday afternoon at Spaulding Field.

East Stroudsburg pounded out 25 shots to the Mountaineers two in the first half on their way to building a 4-0 halftime advantage.

Shannon Brim stopped 18 shots in goal before giving way to Katie Heil in the second half. Heil had nine saves.

Mansfield managed just six shots in the game to East Stroudsburg’s 40 to fall to 1-6 on the season and 1-3 in conference play. East Stroudsburg improved to 5-3 overall and 3-3 in the PSAC.

Mansfield travels to IUP on Sunday.
