Instruction
During each camp, players are divided into two separate camps.
The Little League Division (ages 8-12) Emphasizes player development with two age groupings to assure
the best possible instruction. Whether you are an All-Star or a beginner, This camp is a one of a kind
experience. A recreation program is provided with swimming each day. The only camp geared exclusively for
the youth player.
A Special Transition Division is offered for players ages 12-13, emphasizing
the skills necessary for the step up to a regulation field.
For ages 13 and above, get set for Intensified Instruction on
beautiful Shaute Field with the best camp staff in the Tri-State area. If you are the type of player that
can't get enough of the game, this is the camp for you. Our goal is to provide the atmosphere and
advanced level instruction to help you succeed.
Baseball theory and all fundamentals (hitting, bunting, base running,
sliding, fielding by position, team defense, and pitching) will be taught with lectures, demonstrations,
and practice drills daily. There will be a heavy emphasis on hitting with hitting instruction provided
on 10 high-tech drill areas.
Campers will participate in a minimum of eight games during the week.
Batting cages and pitching machines are available. Each player will receive a detailed written evaluation
along with a chance to be videotaped.
Drills
Each child will participate in fielding, throwing drills, and game strategy
such as cut-off plays, relay throws, and actual game situations. The Radar Gun will be used to measure
arm strength.
Facilities
Shaute Field is one of the premier college baseball facilities in the country.
Included are press box, consession stand, renovated bathrooms, infield tarp, practice field, eight
practice mounds, and eight fully equipped batting cages with pitching machines.
State of the Art video analysis equipment is available to film pitchers and hitters.
Seven additional fields are used for games and drills.
On campus the campers will enjoy the game and recreation rooms, 6 lane swimming pool,
complete weight room, snack bar, and souvenir stand. Van transportation is provided to fields.
Living Quarters
Two to a room, in Mansfield University Dormitories. We accept
roommate requests. Those with All-Star or league commitments may leave camp for games. Coaches
will be living on the floors providing constant supervision.
Dining
Three nutritious meals daily for campers. Choice of at least two hot
entrees with every supper and most lunches, as well as a salad bar. Our diversified menu is all you
can eat and will satisfy the most picky eater.
