FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MOUNTIES DROP DOUBLEHEADER AT KUTZTOWN 

KUTZTOWN – The Mansfield University baseball team had its PSAC playoff hopes officially ended by dropping an 8-2, 5-2 doubleheader to Kutztown University at North Campus Field Sunday afternoon.  

The Mountaineers managed just six hits in the opener with Brett Brown (Bellefonte/Bellefonte) and D.J. Hoshauer (Hamburg/Hamburg) each collecting two hits. Hoshauer also had a double and RBI. Jeff Papi (Tunkhannock/Tunkhannock) went the distance on the mound with six strikeouts.  

In the nightcap, the Mountaineers jumped off to a 1-0 lead, but Kutztown would score all five of its runs in the third and fourth innings. Brett Brown went two-for-three.  

Mansfield falls to 23-20 overall and 10-12 in the PSAC East.
