RELEASE DATE: 4/19/10 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mansfield moves up to No. 6 in NCBWA Atlantic Region poll MANSFIELD – On the strength of a 7-1 week, the Mansfield University baseball team jumped up to No. 6 in this week’s National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Atlantic Regional poll released today. Mansfield, ranked No. 9 in last week’s poll, won seven of eight games last week including a four-game sweep over Shippensburg to improve to 26-14 on the season. The Mountaineers also improved to 11-9 in the PSAC East to take over sole possession of third-place in the division with four conference games remaining in the regular season. The top four teams from the PSAC East and PSAC West advance to the PSAC playoffs in Johnstown, PA starting on April 28. Mansfield travels to Lock Haven on Tuesday and will host Washington Adventist in a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday starting at 1 p.m. at Shaute Field. The Mountaineers host East Stroudsburg on Friday in a PSAC East doubleheader before traveling to East Stroudsburg for the regular season finale on Saturday.
