RELEASE DATE: 4/17/10 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mounties win nightcap to split with Bloomsburg in PSAC East Baseball
Game One Box Score Watch Game Today's Highlights on Youtube MANSFIELD – Dan Chevalier hit a two-run home run and Mansfield scored 10 runs in its final three at-bats in a 15-8 win over Bloomsburg in the nightcap of a PSAC East doubleheader Saturday afternoon at Shaute Field. Bloomsburg won the opener 9-8. In the nightcap, Mansfield trailed Bloomsburg 5-2 before tying the game with three runs in the bottom of the third and added three more in the fourth including two on Chevalier’s second home run of the season. Mansfield scored three more runs in the fifth and added four in the sixth with three of them scoring on a bases-loaded double by Mike Hartz. Andy Young picked up his third win of the season with relief help from Joel Worthington who pitched the final three innings. Chris Coleman went 4-5 with four RBI’s while Hartz also drove in four runs. Matt Hamilton and Kevin Miller each went 2-3. In the opener, Mansfield never managed to overcome a shaky first inning allowing four Bloomsburg runs off four errors. Coleman hit two home runs for Mansfield with Hamilton hitting his sixth home run of the season to lead off the bottom of the first. Miller went 3-4 with a double and two RBI while Coleman drove in three runs. Mansfield remains in the fourth place and the final playoff spot in the PSAC with a 19-13 overall and 7-9 PSAC record.
