FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mansfield’s Bernard Johnson makes first team honors for the ABCA Rawlings Atlantic All Region

MANSFIELD – Bernard Johnson just received the title of First Team Atlantic Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Rawlings Atlantic All Region Relief Pitcher. This honor also qualifies him to be eligible for the ABCA All-American honors as well as if he were to earn first team honors there, he is also eligible to become an All-American.

The voting for Johnson’s award was held between every coach in the Atlantic region. The voting for the ABCA All-American Honors will be held at the NCAA Division II World Series.

Johnson finished the 2010 season with a record of 6-4. He appeared in 18 games in total while starting one and recording four saves. Johnson pitched a total of 39.1 innings allowing 36 hits, 21 runs with 20 of them being earned. He finished the season with a 4.58 ERA.

Johnson was also named to the First Team All-PSAC East and the Second Team Relief Pitcher for the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association 2010 Division II All-Atlantic Region.
