FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Rain washes out Monday’s PSAC Baseball schedule – All Monday games moved to Tuesday


LANCASTER – Day-long rains wash out the opening day of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Baseball Championship Monday at Clipper Magazine Stadium in Lancaster.

After waiting in vain for a break in the weather, the games committee and head coaches meet at 4 p.m. with the decision reached to reschedule all games plus the first loser’s bracket game for Tuesday.

All games scheduled for Monday have now been postponed until Tuesday.  The first five games of the tournament are now scheduled for Tuesday, following the original schedule for the order of the games. The first game will now start at 9:30 a.m. and each successive game is scheduled to start 25 minutes after the conclusion of the previous game. The schedule for the remainder of the tournament will be announced late Tuesday after the conclusion on Tuesday's games.

Although there is not set starting time for Mansfield’s game with Mercyhurst it is expected to start somewhere around 6-6:30 p.m.

Fans can follow all of Mansfield’s games during the championship tournament live on the internet with a streaming broadcast of WELM 1410 AM with Bob Michaels. The broadcast will be linked along with Live Stats at

Tuesday, May 4

Game 1 - (W2) California (Pa.) vs. (E3) Shippensburg, 9:30 a.m. (Bracket A)


Game 2 - (E1) West Chester vs. (W4) Lock Haven, 25 minutes after conclusion of game 1 (Bracket A)


Game 3 - (E2) Kutztown vs. (W3) Slippery Rock, 25 minutes after conclusion of game 2, (Bracket B)


Game 4 - (W1) Mercyhurst vs. (E4) Mansfield, 25 minutes after conclusion of game 3, (Bracket B)


Game 5 - Game 1 Loser vs. Game 2 Loser, 25 minutes after conclusion of game 4, (Loser eliminated)


Wednesday’s and Thursday’s schedule will be announced later.
