FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tyler Noel signs with Texarkana Gunslingers of Continental Baseball League

MANSFIELD --  Former Mansfield University standout Tyler Noel  (Irvona/Glendale) has signed a contract to play professional baseball with the Texarkana Gunslingers of the independent Continental Baseball League.

Noel joined the team earlier this week and will be available for the Gunslingers series starting today with the Coastal Kingfish.

Noel started out the 2009 season in the starting rotation but moved into the closing role where he helped the Mountaineers earn a PSAC playoff berth. His 21 appearances were the third most in the PSAC this season and his four saves were the third highest in the conference.

Noel threw 53.2 innings in 2009 allowing 68 hits while striking out 45 batters and walking 24. He posted a 2-6 overall record with a 5.58 ERA.
