FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wyland Named All-Star Game MVP in Summer League

Ryan Wyland was named the MVP of the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Game. Wyland plays for the Kutztown Rockies, a team that dominated the ACBL for the first half of the season.

Wyland led the Wolff division All-Star squad to a 9-0 victory over the Kaiser Division All-Stars with three hits, including a double, three RBI's and a run.

A team leader at Mansfield, Wyland continues to praise the importance of teamwork. ''It's all about confidence, and teamwork,'' said Wyland. ''We look next to each other in the dugout at a guy who's going to pick you up on an off-day, and that's why we are where we are right now.''

Wyland led Mansfield this season with a .403 batting average and led the PSAC in hits with 83. He continues his stellar performance at the plate, batting .368 through the first half of the season in the ACBL.

Wyland will finish the rest of the summer playing for the Kutztown Rockies before anxiously returning to Mansfield for his senior year. ''It means a lot to me,'' Wyland said of the MVP award. ''I just want to keep playing and hopefully reach the next level.''
