FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MOUNTIES FALL TO SLIPPERY 5-2, 5-2

SLIPPERY ROCK – Slippery Rock posted identical 5-2, 5-2 wins to sweep Mansfield in a doubleheader at Jack Critchfield Park Saturday afternoon.

The Mountaineers were limited to just four hits in the opener with Brett Shockloss and Stu Sumner each driving in a run. Nick Grove went the distance in taking the loss.

In the nightcap, Slippery Rock would score all five runs with two outs. Eric Baker was 2-4 with a double and RBI to lead the Mountaineer offense. D. J. Hoshouer went 2-3. Adam Lorson went 4.2 innings in taking the loss. He was relieved by Ryan Mantua.

Mansfield falls to 9-9 while Slippery Rock improves to 15-1 on the season.
