FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: BASEBALL OPENING WEEKEND SUFFERS WEATHER SETBACK – WILL NOW OPEN 2005 SEASON IN FLORIDA ON WEDNESDAY

MANSFIELD – Try as you may, you just can’t beat Mother Nature.

Despite moving the locations south, the Mansfield University baseball team still had it’s season opening weekend canceled because of snow and ice in Charleston, WV. Mansfield had hoped to play twice on Saturday and Sunday.

The Mountaineers will now open the 2005 season at Ft. Myers, FL on March 3rd, against Gannon University in the first game of a 13 day schedule.

Mansfield was the PSAC East Champion last season with a 31-19 overall record.
