WASHINGTON, PA- Nick Grove picked up his second win of the season with relief from Colby Rickabaugh as Mansfield University defeated California University of Pennsylvania 7-6 in the opener at Falconi Field Saturday afternoon. Mansfield lost the nightcap with a score of 11-4. Mansfield exploded for seven runs in the second inning with four singles and a two-run double by J.D. Druckenmiller in the opener. Grove went 4.1 innings, scattering six hits to improve his record to 2-1 on the season. Rickabaugh came in to relieve Grove allowing no hits and no runs, while striking out one to hold onto the victory for the Mountaineers. In the nightcap, Eric Baker went 3-3 with one RBI and Druckenmiller went 2-4 with two doubles, but it would not be enough as California would defeat Mansfield 11-4 Adam Lorson went four innings to take the loss. He struck out two while walking one. Mansfield will host California University of Pennsylvania tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. at Shaute Field.
