OPENER POSTPONED BY SNOW – RANKED SIXTH IN LATEST NCBWA REGIONAL POLL
MANSFIELD
– The
Mansfield
University
baseball team’s 2004 home
opener scheduled for Wednesday afternoon against Cortland-SUNY at Shaute Field
has been postponed due to snow.
The makeup
date has yet to be determined.
The
Mountaineer baseball team has already played 18 games this season posting an
11-7 record during games in
West Virginia
and
Florida
.
Mansfield
is currently ranked sixth in
the North Atlantic Region National College Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA)
poll. Four of the six teams in the PSAC East are ranked in the regional top ten
poll.
The
Mountaineers are batting .322 as a team led by Matt Mills with a .556 average.
Mansfield
hopes play their home opener
this weekend when they are scheduled to host St. Anselm College.
